Justin Gill over at Common Thought has written an interesting article titledĀ “Gospel Allegiance”, Kanye West, & Pharisees. It discusses what we are to make of Kanye West’s very public conversion. Much has already been said about this but what makes Gill’s take unique is he addresses it through the lens of New Testament scholar Matthew Bates’ insights that believing the gospel means embodied allegiance to King Jesus. He carefully locates all of this within the context of contemporary American religious and political thought which makes the article especially poignant.
Thanks for the link! Could I ask that you edit my name to “Justin Gill” instead of “John”?
