“Christ’s biggest issue is not found on the platforms of modern political parties. Instead, Jesus calls the entire world to give allegiance to him above country, company, or any other community.”
The above is an excerpt from another wonderful article by Jackson Wu summarizing the contributions of New Testament scholars Scot McKnight and Tim Gombis to the multiauthor volume Christian Political Witness (IVP, 2014.) The above quote is from the summary of McKnight’s essay. I think he hits the nail right on the head what Jesus politics is all about, especially today in a world where we are inundated with politics. I also found very helpful his definition and outline of what the kingdom of God is. His outline of the kingdom has expanded my understanding on what it means to participate in Christ and hopefully I’ll be sharing those insights he inspired quite soon. For the full article click here.
