Some thoughts on “The Prophetic Imagination”

The Prophetic Imagination by renowned Old Testament scholar and theologian Walter Brueggemann is a modern theological classic. It is not very long but it is an outstanding book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I came across it at a time I was trying to formulate a biblical understanding of the prophetic. Not only did it confirms some ideas and suspicions I had, it took things to another level, challenging and expanding my vision of what the prophetic is. It is also a brilliant but concise work of biblical theology which I am very interested in. There is so much more I could say about this book. It’s had a great influence on me as well as the stuff I posted on this platform. Here are some brief reviews of it from Paperback Theology and Creed Street Baptist Church to give you a thumbnail of what it is about but I do encourage you to read it in its entirety.
