A Figural World: Summary

This is a quick summary of A Figural World:

The Bible contain some fantastic accounts and it also contains more mundane narratives. The post seeks to better grasp how the scriptures reconcile these different visions of reality.

Since there is a Creator he endows his creation with meaning and purpose. That means all created things have symbolic value which results in symbolic universe i.e. a figural world. The Bible uses the language and symbolism of its figural world to communicate.

The word of God is able to talk about the natural and the supernatural in the same breath because they belong to the same figural world. A figural world is actually the narrative aspect of a worldview.
